Yeah its still excellent.

Pascal wont be 10x faster

It's ten times faster and crunching some sort of data not game related

Hi guys,

I want to buy this card https://www.komplett.no/product/845663/datautstyr/skjermkort/pci-express/evga-geforce-gtx-980-ti-6gb-sc ( EVGA Gtx980TI SC+ 6GB ),

But is it worth buying this card now? Is there anything new coming soon?

It still depends on what res you're gonna play in.

1080p 60hz: NOPE superwaste of MONEY

1080p 120hz+: NOPE superwaste of MONEY

1440p 60hz: Will crush any game so kinda worth it

1440p 120hz: Will probably crush most games so worth it

4k 60hz: Definitely worht the money

Hi :)

I will play in 1080p to start with, and maybe buy 1440p later on, MAYBE :P

I was also thinking of the regular 980

PS: I will also use my computer for video editing and 3d rendering

I judged it based on whether the 980ti's capabilities will be saturated. That's why I put "Definitely worth it" on 4k since it will make the 980ti shit out everything its got.

that makes this kinda hard then, since mostly ill be playing at 1080p and rendering at 1080p. Im not even 100% sure if im gonna buy a 1440p yet either. and i see the difference in prize is huge from 980 to 980ti. guess ill be more futureproof with the 980ti,,, hmm

Nothing new until soon. When it comes to tech, the general rule of thumb is that if new products are due for release within the next couple of weeks, don't wait. Technology moves on so quick you'll be left stalling and stalling and before you know it you're still using a potato and 5 Intel generations have just gone past.

That card is pretty damn powerful, you shouldn't be disappointed.

As a side note, I would consider the Gigabyte GTX 980 Ti G1 Gaming instead. The cooler is better and the G1 Gaming generally overclocks higher than the EVGA SC. It's probably one of the best 980 Ti's for the money.

I will get my R9 290x for my home rig back from RMA next week, and consider selling it and buy a 980Ti from Zotac; got a cheap deal.

I don't play much game and i have 1080p 60hz monitor; having a 980ti sitting in my chassis will surely make me proud while using facebook.

Get it, its the top end CPU and by far one of the most powerful today, and will still be 2nd - 3rd most powerful next year lol

If it's a reasonable price as compared to other custom PCB 980 Tis, then go for it.

Don't wait for pascal unless you are patient enough since the high end cards won't come until Q4 2016/Q1 2017 not to mention it won't be the super ultra evolution that a lot of people are expecting... will it be faster? Well of course and I'm sure 4K will benefit a lot from it considering it's the focus nowadays but the evolution we will be seeing will be the same evolution we see with every generation of nvidia's cards... So is the 980ti worth it? Well if you have the money and you need a gpu asap than there's no better choice
