Good PSU for budget build.

So I'm gathering a parts list for a friend. His budget is 600£. I'm currently sitting on an fx-6300 and XFX R9 380 as main components. 

 

What PSU would you recommend?

Depending on the prices the i5 may not be worth over the FX 6300.

EVGA's 430W PSUs are abysmal - literally the same shit as Diablotek ....

If solely gaming, you could opt for a i3 - if you need the 6 cores then FX is better.

ok nvm, but just so you know, i3 outperforms that FX quite a bit in gaming

• Corsair above the CS series
• Some EVGA (Don't know the specifics)

As for EVGA

G2, GS, P2, B2 are good, B1, G1 and NEX are meh, W1 are tosh

here is my fair share of PSU from CoolerMaster

 

 

Avoid the Thunder series and the Elite series of PSU

 

 

the GX or GM are the OK PSU

 

the decent is the VSM series

 

and the V series are the best of the PSU lineup

In most cases yes - depends on the game though - Witcher 3 will work better on the FX half the time since it leverages all 6 cores properly
