Quick question, will this fit?

Hello, my friend is gonna order his first "real" computer now but on the site it doesn't say that 1151 fits with this cooler but I am pretty sure it does I just need to be 100% sure before I say anything about it!

Isn't the 115X sockets the same? If I remember correctly.

LGA 1151 has the same mounting as LGA 1150

1150, 1151, 1155 and 1156 all use the same holes.

It fits. Like ppl here already said the mounting is the same for all LGA115X sockets. You didn't ask this but in general it's good to note that the cooling performance requirement is in line with the older sockets. That's just to say, this block isn't under or over powered either. You're fine.

 

Just to get yourself off the firing line if things do go south, you should always check all specs on the manufacturer's website. Retailers can go easily years without updating their info.

Yeah, it fits fine. You're right, LGA1150 and 1151 have the same physical socket so all 1150 coolers will work on 1151
