Build for my brother

Mac

So my brother has asked me to build him a PC, he will need to use it for day to day usage, a bit of Photoshop ect. Possible a bit of gaming, light.

He has a budget of £280 - £300.

We live in the UK, so please no US/CA links, just name the part or something.

Thanks!

EDIT: ALREADY GOT A HDD

That is a really really low budget... can you not get anymore?

Over time, for the GPU, he doesn't care about the case or anything so that can be cheap.

That's still going to be quite hard to pull off.

Let me go get my tryhard pants, and I shall return.

Barebone. Some room left for adding CD drive if necessary, rest can be used to get higher tier CPU, RAM, or CPU cooler. At your discretion. Hyper 212+ would be CPU cooler if you go for that.

Can he wait until he has more money? It's not a good idea buying bad components now and then upgrading.

He needs it ASAP for college, he's stuck with an old pentium laptop right now.

For £300 he will have to get another laptop I'm afraid.

Let me work something out for you.

A bit over the budget: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/1t7hX

This will probably be your best bet, he can add a ready cache later for like 30$ or so.

also, don't buy a A series AMD and a GPU, it's a giant waste of money.

A APU will out perform both of those cards and if you are going to have a GPU you don't need the RAM speeds with an APU
