This will probably be your best bet, he can add a ready cache later for like 30$ or so.

I would go with an APU since he is doing light gaming and an APU will be able to handle that

A APU will out perform both of those cards and if you are going to have a GPU you don't need the RAM speeds with an APU

Well anyways a 7770 would be better than those GPU's and if you are getting a GPU don't get an APU
