Just a quick question: is acer still that bad a company?

Or has it's overal hardware improved?

for 760 euros it aint that bad i guess. i made a little mistake the link was changed. i changed it again

 

I'ts not meant for gaming, just a longer life span(little bit of future proofing)

Acer is a company. Not good or bad. About the same level of quality as HP, Asus and Dell.

I had an Acer in the past. Their cheaper laptops aren't so good in the build quality department but they performed as they should otherwise.

its pretty good for light gaming, there are some places hey cut but these are the cheapest laptops you will find with a dedicated GPU thats worth a damn and not something like 920m

I found a test in German about the same model.

 

These temperatures are on max. load.

Overall it seems to be a decent notebook. Battery life is fine, but only the display isn't as good because it's a glossy TN panel which also isn't very bright.

so, both my acers (one desktop, one laptop) do quite well, its just sad that i've intended to put linux on both of them, but neither want to boot a linux install.

I'm sitting here with a 6 year old, low end, $250 Acer on my lap. It runs Win10 perfectly and is reliable as hell. That Aspire should be great ​

I had an acer, lasted a year then busted. Keys started falling off after a few months. It ran like hell because of lovely Vista. My mom had an acer tiny netbook type of thing. That lasted quite a while and suddenly fried so that was sad. Everyone I know with the exception of my mom has hated their Acer laptop. Told myself I'd never buy Acer again.
