So does it work?

Otherwise you could use some css (either through another file that is dedicated to your css, or in the html head).

Example of in the head (place this in between your <head> and </head> tags):

<style>body { background-image: url("MyPictureOfSpace.jpg");}</style>

"We're all in this together, might as well be friends" Tom, Toonami.

I couldn't just throw you into building me a php database etc without you first knowing basic stuff, once he gets the hang of HTML then move on to CSS.

no. thats why I reccomended learning (even just a bit) of css to do that. because then you can use one sheet for the whole website and it saves you a lot of time.

CSS needs to have some HTML to attach to tbh.

Yes, but when learning the basics is when you should learn these basics.  I do agree though that he shouldn't just know.  Just was implying that he should learn.

True true, but for all we know this is the first time OP has ever tried to do it, so can we all chill on the DO IT IN CSS SCRUB! lmao.

While there is some logical progression in the process of learning this stuff, I'm not convinced it's HTML and then CSS. The way web design works these days, it doesn't make much sense to learn HTML all by itself. CSS gives you tools to do things that HTML is either poorly suited for, or things that are flat-out deprecated in HTML; and I don't see a point in learning the wrong way to do things.

So in this case, I think just being new to HTML doesn't mean it shouldn't still be done in CSS if possible.
