Hey guys. I've had the Moto E for a few months now. I bought this phone because A. it was cheap and B. Motorola promised updates for the Moto E 2015 AT LEAST. I have the 2015 Moto E LTE, and I see NO reason for Motorola not to roll-out Marshmallow updates for it. It's specs are good enough, and it can handle just a simple UI/OS update. If Motorola decides not to give Moto E 2nd gen updates, I'm NEVER buying a Motorola device again. I don't buy from companies that GO BACK ON THEIR FUCKING PROMISES.

So anyways, what can I do, seeing as it is I have this POS Moto E, what can I do to get 6.0 on it? Are there any ROMs that I can use? Is rooting it even an option?

Take a look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-e-2015

It's the place 2 be for things like that. It's probably too early for 6.0 on it, but i'm 100% sure there will be a custom rom for it! Just, give it time, it will be there.

dude, chill. they mostly likely dont do it because i guarantee you most of there data base is old people and noobs on the moto E. so they dont want to confuse them with new hardware and get complaints from them.

I guess then Apple has no reason to update their devices either.

this is why i'm considering buying a brick phone, and building my own tablet for all else.

the entirety of mobile devices has turned mehh (if it wasnt from the start of it :/) most of the laptop market has gotten quite mehh.

i REALLY hope for some company to see the light and bring back custom laptops to the mainstream.

and for some company to see the enthousiast potential of custom phones. (like phone blocks, but maybe internal swappable parts)

i'd never drop big money on a phone, but if i could build one, and put android (and android updates) on it myself (or any other OS for that matter :/) i' drop quite a chunk of change on it.

there is also a difference between a 100 dollar phone and a 900 dollar phone

*apple directly controls what happens with the update then they directly put it in their own phones, while android is made for a bunch of phones and each phone handles it differently.

i said most man, not all.

also didnt call you dumb, noob is just a term for people who dont know, just because you don't know one topic doesn't automatically make you dumb.

There will be a custom rom for it, chillax.

I noticed Motorola has been a lot less 'update-friendly' since they went from Googlorola to being Lenovorola. I wouldn't get my hopes up the situation will be better with their next Moto E or Moto G devices.
