If price was NOT a factor. Is there any benefit of z170 over x99? I know x99 has the 5930k/5820k

X99 chips have more cores.... that's about it tbh.. OH and the boards can support 128GB RAM with ECC I think on certain ones... but as a gamer, who would need all that?

Don't forget more PCIe lanes on x99 over z170...

I have a 5820k right now.. I have to build a new computer for myself due to some unforeseen circumstances.. So was wondering if i should do skylake or x99 this time. seeing as there's no real point to skylake guess ill do x99

If you were going to get the skylake i7, then go with x99. Same price and the 2 cores is nice.

If only gaming, go with Z170. If doing any content creation in addition, then go X99.
