best value rendering card?

hey guys,

 

so as far as quadro cards go, i have no clue of the current market.

 

what would you say is a good price / performance card for rendering in 3ds max or autocad for that matter? since im not exactly about to buy one now i cant really fix a budget but lets just stay in the same pric range as consumer cards.

GeForce card (960?) will probably be as good, if not better, in sheer speed. 

 

I have a Quadro K1200 for color accuracy, but my 780Ti renders faster so is what I use for render queues.

 

EDIT: Assumed you meant video rendering. For 3D modeling, I have no clue sorry. My 780Tis perform well in 3Ds Max and Maya, but never tested on the quadro.

The Quadro K4200 is the best value Quadro card right now in my opinion, though still very costly.

I was under the impression that rendering is faster with a cpu and a gpu just aids it. In vegas my 980ti's don't get used at all, its just my cpu. CUDA doesn't do shit.

Same thing happens with my 780 Ti in Premiere. If you plug in a Quadro it gets used to 100% and significantly speeds up the render though.

So weird though. Not to mention my 5960x is only running at 30%. I think my wd black may be the bottleneck but that also seems alright. idk what to put it down to.
