Acceptable Input Lag?

Go to solution Solved by The Official Czex,

Hey There!

So, I've been looking at this monitor (that shall remain anonymous for reasons) that has input lag of 5ms. So I've been thinking to myself whether that is a lot. Is there a sweet spot for input lag? Coz there are monitors with 1ms input lag ratings. Is 5 too high? I need to know mainly (saying mainly because it's my main fear of it being affected the most) for Geometry Dash. Slow input rates can easily screw you up. So I need to know if there is a sweet spot without blasting through a budget.

Thanks is advance ( ͡ᵔ ͜ʖ ͡ᵔ )

5 milliseconds is unnoticeable.

EDIT: RESPONSE TIME, NOT INPUT LAG xD

If you play Geometry Dash, would you take the time to rate this demon? 14986973 ;3;

You will not be affected by the 5ms response time.

It does not have an input lag of 5ms. It has a response time of 5ms, which is not the same thing. It is the time it takes for the pixels to switch from grey, to a colour, then back to grey. Essentially, how fast it changes colours. It can cause blurring of fast moving images, but it does not affect how long it takes for the monitor to respond to an input, as the pixels will start changing the same time as a 1ms response time monitor (theoretically, all panels are different), but it will take very slightly longer to finish changing colour.

5ms is fine for gaming.

8 ms is also impossible to notice if there is 0 input lag. Like Dell U2414H.
