I am new to CS:GO so bear with me. How do you get cool gun skins/paint on your gun in CS:GO?

Either buy them, trade up, trade or open boxes, and they're called skins :)

I am new to CS:GO so bear with me. How do you get cool gun skins/paint on your gun in CS:GO?

you buy them off of steam market, recently sold all mine (had an inv of 90€). It's not really worth it, more or less bragging rights and cool looks.

CPU: I7 4790K(4.6@1.252v)                               Case: Fractal Design Define R5 Windowed(Black)           Cooler: CM 212 EVO + NF F12 iPPC

RAM: HyperX Fury 1600MHZ CL10 2x4GB      Storage: Samsung 850 EVO(250GB) + WD Red(2TB)      PSU: Corsair RM750 (and no, it hasn't blown up!)

You can get them from drops if you rank up (Not Competitive Rank).

I think you can get cases from the map that is being played during ESL/other major CS:GO tournaments (If you watch and talk in chat from time to time IIRC) and open them without keys

I always said that I wouldn't buy into skins...

 

CSGO has been my go to game for a couple months now, in the little time I get to play. And guess what, I've dropped some money into them just for fun!

 

So words of warning. If you don't wanna sink money into gambling on skins then don't even start. It becomes rather addicting once you do! (my friend is in the same boat as me - said I was crazy for opening cases, then he started and now he can't say no either - damn you Gaben!)

I put like $30 in just for fun and so far so good, not addicted. If you like a skin which is like $3-$30 I would just buy it, you will waste so many cases trying to get one from a case. Totally your choice though. Get a cool skin for the pistol and gun you always use and you will be sweet.
