Just an FYI, blacks are not 10k rpm drives. That would be velociraptors. WD black hdds are still 7200 rpm, bit they are on the upper scale performance wise for what a 7200 rpm drive can do. They are also more reliable, as reflects the 5 year warranty.

For the OP: We need more info. The two hdds you have chosen are so vastly different, for different usage scenarios.

Tell us what you'll be using the drives for. What programs - if any - what files, how much will you use it, etc.

What is most important to you? Speed? Reliability? Low cost? Peace of mind with a long warranty?

Otherwise this will just turn into a fan boy flame war.
