Did Kombustor change?

I just downloaded Kombustor again so I could run it to heat my room (my dad is cheap) and I noticed that am getting less than half the framerate I used to get in furmark (~68 to ~32). The settings are the same, the only thing that changed on my end is that I'm now running Windows 10 instead of 7. Would that really knock it down so far? My performance in games hasn't changed so what could cause this other than MSI making the benchmark more intense?

 

Edit: Something else strange is that when I run the stress test, it says my GPU is under 4000% load. When I ran it with Windows 7 it was always 99%.

Kombustor is a card killer, run something more stable like "Video Cards Stability Test" as it is what Nvidia uses to test for artifacts.

use folding@home because it does more than generate heat.

That program looks like its from 1998. I got 1400 fps in the benchmark... is there a way to change the settings?

 

use folding@home because it does more than generate heat.

Will do, seems like a more constructive way to not freeze. Does it use CPU and GPU? My GPU generates way more heat

That doesn't matter. It puts it under full load. Don't use the benchmark just run the stability thingy. That's what I do for warmth.

Both. My system has a TDP of arounf 405W, and it draws about 430 from the wall while folding. Overclocked, I can get power usage over 500 watts.

Do you use all threads? My CPU cooler isn't the best and using all cores gets me temps of like 100C even at 85% fan speed. I set it to 2 cores and it's much better.

I use my 6 core Intel as hard as it can go. Nothing can get anything in my system over 70 degrees.

lots of fans and two radiators. Everything is watercooled.

Yeah I think I'll hold off on CPU folding until I can watercool my system. Been meaning to do it I just don't want to lay down the cash. And it's not great for heating my room in the winter
