$120 Budget for a CPU?

I am split between two CPUs. I have a $120 Budget for a CPU. CPU 1 cost $120 and is 2 core. CPU 2 cost $75 and is 6 core. Both can match the bottle neck of the GPU, however CPU 1 can perform 30% better on CPU heavy games. In non CPU heavy video games, CPU 2 can perform just as good and even perform better on games that can effectively use 6 cores. CPU 2 has greater raw processing power. Which CPU should I get.

go with something thats atleast 4 cores for gaming honestly... more and more games wont work with anything less

CPU 1 (Assuming it's an i3). They perform just as well as an i5 when gaming. If for some reason a game doesn't allow dual cores then you just have to mod a few files (generally). Not too hard, plus you'll have a better upgrade path.

AMD Cores are different from Intel Cores. An Intel core has more performance than an AMD Core and consumes less power. You should save up for an i5 or just go with the i3 for a better upgrade path.

Go with the i3. 

So when I narrow down the criteria to only games were the i3 and FX 6300 well perform equally, I should pay an extra $45 because fan boy???

The i3 is better for gaming due to the better single core performance and it's also hyper-threaded (Look at the video below if you dont know what that is). The FX6300 is not a "true" 6 core CPU and is more like a 3 core with 3 threads and is faster in perfectly threaded applications like video rendering , decompressing files etc. and might be better if overclocked but you'll end up paying more for a better motherboard and cooling.

If the 6-core is FX-6300 then that is best! :D
