What is the issue if i were to run my games on 144Hz? will the graphic temperature increases? i need a lesson on this because i'm planning on getting the Benq XL2420Z. :D

thanks

you will run into AAA games and badly optimized games that are just too demanding to run at 144Hz, but to your pc itll feel just like 60Hz.

Your graphics card will generally run as fast as the voltage/temperature limits allow, unless you're bottlenecking it or you're imposing a limitation like vSync. If you have a limitation like this and disable it your card will probably push more pixels and consume more power and produce more heat.

Sig under construction.

You'll tend to find that your GPU runs hotter when its at 144hz rather than 60/120hz in idle.

My idle at 60hz is around the 26-32 dependent on my ambient temperature on a 980TI and tends to go to around 55-58 (No fans on the GPU running) when at 144hz due to the memory clock having to be ran at full to ensure that the screen doesn't tear.

Overall its a minor increase and isn't something to be worried about unless your close/already hitting the thermal limit.

By the way, i have been thinking about the XL2411Z as well, what is the main difference between the XL2420Z and XL2411Z?

The XL2411Z is around $235 while XL2420Z is around $375. That's a difference of $140.

i know the 20Z have the red streak thingy, the controller and the smooth bevel or something like that. hahahaha

The reason for me to ask this is because of this http://www.digitalversus.com/lcd-monitor/xl2411z-p17975/test.html

people says that the panels between both of monitors are the same but the digitalversus wrote that contrast and colour is a bit, rated 2 out 5 stars while the XL2420Z have a 4 out 5 stars for the contrast and colour

Review for XL2420Z : http://www.digitalversus.com/lcd-monitor/benq-xl2420z-p17979/test.html

The panel is the exact same so I don't know.  Could be low level color calibrations, beats me.  After all, the firmware is different.

The MAIN difference between the 2411z and 2420z are:

1) S-switch (2411z does not have one).

2) Displayport connector (2411z does not have one).

3) touch sensitive buttons vertically on right side of bezel (2411z has them horizontally at the bottom right).

I have no idea if the low level color calibrations (which the user has no access to) are the same or different.
