Lowest ram usage competition for cookie

On a laptop I sometimes have to use, with Windows 7 32bit, (it might have been lower, this is what I remember), it got as low as 333 MB! Task manager said this. The laptop only has a iGPU, and only 1GB of DDR laptop RAM. I'll check tomorrow to see to how low it'll go.

I'll put it up for shits and giggles separately, but yea compression when you get under say 4GB makes the competition pretty unfair at that point.

Well the issue there isn't so much xp as it is that 99% chance that computer is 32 bit and therefore cannot meet the 8GB requirement (plus comparing 32 bit to 64 bit is insanely unfair.)

Yea it looks like you got quite a bit more available (even removing that extra window running would help.) What is your graphics brand? EDIT: Saw your sig

Yea if we get enough entries I'll make a spreadsheet, but for now that top 10 is good enough.

I checked it out and I'm fairly certain that's p55 (although I suppose 3420 could be the server version of p55).

I just went through all the services that didn't seem necessary with task manager in admin mode

 

I could definitely live with it like that so it's not against the rules.

This is on my normal computer. i7 3770k, Z77, 8GB of RAM, and a GTX 680. An Windows 7 install, which is about 1 and a half years old.

 

 

So, rounded this gives 1.4GB

 

 

And now, after I've stopped many random processes (I don't think you should count this as a real submission, I didn't even have my taskbar anymore, so I had to make the picture with my phone

 

1.11GB!!! That's kind of amazing

Ok so I actually tried to get my usage down and got to 1.37 GB prolly could have gotten lower if I went through as admin and deleted processes also note the 3 day uptime, prolly could have gotten lower if I restarted my pc

I see your Windows and I raise you my Kubuntu. A few services are running in the background. RAM usage at 1.2 GB.

He's limiting to windows because you can go straight command prompt on Linux and get almost 0 ram usage which isn't realistic.

True. Mine is a realistic use case though. I daresay I have more stuff running at this moment than many competitors here do. In fact, I could have quit Opera and RAM usage would've gone down to 820 MB.

Plus it is more instructive to the general populous to use only windows. Yes from a competitive perspective Linux will wipe the floor with Windows thus is understood.
