Posted October 7, 2015 So lately more so than ever I've realized I don't fear people. I don't fear situations. I don't fear much of anything. I start thinking and planning years, weeks days in advance for every situation. I've planned out everything that could happen to me. I have plans in my head for everything very far in advance. I am never scared going into a fight, going into a room of people I dislike. Never scared of anything so far. Your thoughts? Posted October 7, 2015 Not having fears is as normal as having fears. Being startled though isn't fear, but instinct. Of course I can be startled. Although I am really good at reacting to being such. Planning is less of the message here (although I can play thing by ear also. I was in Law Enforcement you have to be good at it). More so on my lack of fear, I find it odd. I've never met anyone who has a lack of fear like myself. Link to comment https://linustechtips.com/topic/462873-thoughts-on-fear/#findComment-6211861 Share on other sites
 Friends, family, loved ones, etc. I don't fear for myself ever. I been in situations were I've been shot at. I've been hospitalize almost dead for a number of reasons. I don't fear for myself but I fear for others. I have strong empathy and sympathy. Posted October 7, 2015 I don't remember the last time I felt fear for anything. When I was a little kid I was afraid of a lot of things, but now I just accept things for what they are and move on. My grandpa died a few days ago, and I felt like shit for the following 2-3 days after that, now I just accepted it and I will remember him till the day I die. The stars died for you to be here today. A locked bathroom in the right place can make all the difference in the world. This seems like rather than a lack of fear, an acceptance of what will happen. For me at least there is never the thought beforehand. Posted October 7, 2015 Fear just like every other human emotion is healthy in moderation. But just like every other human emotion too little of it or too much of it can be damaging. Fear keeps you on your toes, helps keep you alive. Not enough of it and you become wreck less and a danger to yourself and others. too much of it and you shut down and isolate yourself. Posted October 7, 2015 I like fear.. In moderation. It gets my body revved up with all the adrenaline and other crap. My newfound anxiety put a dampener on that though.. Making fear a bit more of a chore. ====>The car thread<====>Dark Souls thread<====>Placeholder<==== "Life is like a raging river, Its gonna get rough downstream. Posted October 7, 2015 I live dont fear much of anything. I just prepare for it and the consequences. As my current lifestyle is I have alot of free time so, I play out random scenarios in my head on what would happen and how I would react. Everyone gets startled though. I generally dont scared when threatened, for the better(and sometimes worse) I get fired up and mad which is sometimes good and sometimes bad. I'm quite different from people as there are all sorts of things wrong with me, that are called out. My lack of fear is one of the more common things that is called out by other people. Edit: Goddammit post was deleted. Thank god for auto save. Link to comment https://linustechtips.com/topic/462873-thoughts-on-fear/#findComment-6213702 Share on other sites
 Like when you see people in movies with a gun to there head and they just calmly talk to the person explaining why that is a bad idea? That kind. I actually did get a gun pulled on me I was younger. I was talking to the guy about how he would get caught and thrown in the slammer for life and get trashed by other inmates for killing a kid, as i was sweating like crazy, and then finally reached a sewing needly i had in my pocket for some reason or something sharp and bent my knees quickly jammed the needle up a great place and then dashed. Thats sorta around the time I lost my fear. Link to comment https://linustechtips.com/topic/462873-thoughts-on-fear/#findComment-6213751 Share on other sites
 Thats sorta around the time I lost my fear. When I was 16 or so. I was camping with a friend who happen to be a girl. I man came up and threatened her and I with a gun because we "gave him a funny look" I called the cops. It was a remote area they said they were a half hour out. When the guy came back I managed to disarm him (took a metal pole from the camp ground and whacked his knuckles). He dropped the gun which I then locked away until the cops could get there after restraining him. That is when I lost fear. That is also when I decided to become a police officer. Posted October 7, 2015 Well I've been interested in law enforcement for a while. So how is it? And should I do it? Should you do it: If you really want to. Yes. How is it: Tough. Lots of hard work. You have to wear a lot of hats (metaphorically). You have to be a: Police Officer, a counselor, an adviser, a protector etc. Long hours, plus overtime on court dates. If you think you are ready go for it. Link to comment https://linustechtips.com/topic/462873-thoughts-on-fear/#findComment-6213863 Share on other sites
 Not technically but to get in the door you'll want a bachelors degree. I got in without it because I was a Cadet 6 years prior.
