Which 980Ti out of Asus Strix, MSI, and EVGA.

Noirgheos

They are all the same price except for Asus. That one is $10 cheaper than MSI and EVGA. What I want is personal experiences with each card, which is the coolest while being the quietest, which one overclocks the best, etc.

I've got the MSI version and i'm liking it so far. boosts to 1400+ without any overclock, and is dead silent most of the time.

EVGA is which version?

is that the SuperClocked ACX2.0?

out of the lot i think you best bet will be MSI and EVGA

How are temps?

http://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/msi-geforce-gtx-980-ti-gaming-oc-review,9.html

http://www.overclockers.com/msi-gtx-980-ti-gaming-6g-video-card-review/

both of these have temperatures somewhere in the review.

I haven't personally tested the temps I just know the clock it reached while gaming. Never seems to overheat though and when not gaming the fans turn off in most cases.

Well...  they are all good period.
All the opinions here are opinions as most will equally serve you.

My personal choice would be the ASUS because it is a triple fan card that overclocks well, and looks good too.

For the Best builds and Price lists here is a world where many points of the price have been predefined already for your convenience!

The Xeon E3 1231 V3 IS BETTER Than the Core i5 4690K and a Significantly better value for the non-overclockers or value shoppers.

The OS is like a kind food, Try it before saying if you like it or don't.

EVGA is probably the quietest and can overclock good... not the prettiest PCB unless you go for Kingpin though.

I posted screenshots of MSI Afterburner/GPU-Z/HWMonitor in this thread if you want to see actual results of the Strix 980Ti:

http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/459846-gtx-980-ti-choice/page-2

Tldr:

ASIC 64.1%

Factory clock speed 1190Mhz

Boost: 1440Mhz

Ambient room temp: 25.6c

Max temperature: 64c

Max fan speed: 64%

It boosts to 1493 MHz at the factory 1217 MHz clock setting, 69c and 65 % fan speed. I didn't post these results yet since I've just started OCing it.

It's silent up to 60% fan speed, quiet to 70, then starts to ramp up the noise any higher. It's still tolerable at high rpm. No coil whine at all.

I'd probably choose between this, an EVGA FTW or Classified (they're all in a similar price range here). Silly money of course a Kingpin.

EVGA, Classified or Superclocked+ depending on budget.  All three are fairly close in performance and thermals, and EVGA is the company whose customer support is not akin to jamming an ice pick into your eyeballs in terms of pain.

I've had the best luck with eVGA in general. I've bought multiple Asus cards DOA. MSI had coil whine issues and I had a Lightning card die on me.

Barely even matters anyways, almost EVERY single non reference 980 TI has a waterblock for it, or in the making for it.

Yeah, I'm really liking my MSI 980 Ti too. Mine is the Lite Edition, so only boosts to 1240MHz... but still as close to silent as can be (no fan buzzing or anything, just the sound of air moving). And temps under gaming load are around 70-75C.
