bf4 and minecraft maybe battlefront and GTA V at 1080p

970 would definitely be a step up, sell your 760 for whatever you can for it then save the rest up for a 970 or 390

Well then you don't need to upgrade but battlefront is a more demanding game so you might want to upgrade. If you are happy with the framerates you are getting then there is no need to upgrade.

Battlefront is not more demanding. In some areas its less demanding. Check the frame-rate tests.

Wait to see how that card deals with battlefront, if it's 40+ fps at decent settings at 1080p, then keep the card until next year and wait to upgrade gpus then.  And god help you if pascal does not handle dx12 better than maxwell because that nvidia devotion will be an albatross down your neck.

I am impelled not to squeak like a grateful and frightened mouse, but to roar...

If you're playing on a 1080P 60Hz screen probably not... I just upgraded from a GTX 760 to a GTX 980 Ti which is a MASSIVE upgrade... but on my 1080P 60Hz panel it's not like a night and day difference. DSR doesn't make a big difference, though the higher framerates makes aiming a bit more responsive in BF4... But the difference from playing on ~med-high settings at 70 fps to playing at ultra settings at 80-120 fps isn't a big deal honestly. I mean I went from playing with a mix of Normal and High settings in GTA5 to playing fully maxed out (except for the advanced graphical settings, since idrc about them tbh), and the textures are nice but the game overall isn't any more or less enjoyable.

I think that if you have at least a GTX 660 Ti/760 or HD 7950/R9 280 or better, there's not really anything worth upgrading to if you're playing at 1080P 60Hz... now if you wanna play at 1440P or play on a 144Hz panel then the GTX 970 would be a big upgrade.
