the 980ti perform better most of the time, uses less power, runs cooler, and non-reference cards run quieter

also you can overclock it like hell :)

AMD is fine if you're ok with cards running at 90+C with the audible output of several jet engines.

I prefer Nvidia however. Almost always have better performance, support and longevity. Plus Geforce experience, shadow play, and easy OC's with afterburner or precisionX are always great.

I've never been disappointed with any of the Nvidia cards I've purchased. I cannot say the same about my AMD purchases.

Why not ASUS?

I'm curious to know as what people have to say about this as well. Let's see how this one plays out

(I own a Strix Ti after having returned Gigabyte and MSI versions).

980ti

My Build: i7-4790K, 212 Evo, Asus Maximus VI Extreme, Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB DDR3-1600, Intel 730 240GB SSD, WD Blue 1TB, EVGA GTX 980Ti ACX 2.0, NZXT H440 Blue/Black, EVGA 650W 80+Gold.

Most of the time, it's not the computer, it's the person using it.

AMD fanboy here - 980Ti. It just performs better. Drivers aren't as bad anymore, but people still seem to have that stigma for some reason.

You could get the 980 and hold onto it until you don't get good performance anymore, or settle for something cheaper that'll last a year or two, or more if you don't mind turning down graphics, like a 970 or 390(I'd say 390 in this case). If you're just playing LoL and Wow, a GTX 950/960 are great cards for the price.

CPU: R7 1700 @ 3.875GHz/1.335v , GPU: Fury Nitro.
