I don't think it's anything to worry about, but if you'd like to investigate why it is happening, you'll need to provide a lot of different information.

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Do you guys know of any way to fix this? Recording is a bit of a hassle when it freezes like this.

i would go back to the last driver, and try that and check temps and lower an overclock a bit if you have one

My Cheap But Good Rig: I7-3770s, Intel Motherboard (actually made by intel), 16gb DDR3, Nvidia Gtx 1070, 250gb Samsung 850 EVO SSD, 750gb HDD, Evga 500 BR power supply

what power supplu do you have ?

Corsair CX750M. Pretty sure it's not the problem as it's more than enough for my 980 Ti.

The CX , VS , and RM Series from Corsair all use poor capacitors, bad PSU

I will not risk my  980 Ti with a bad PSU

even 600 watt from seasonic will be far better than you corsair

it.s not about watt it.s about quality

and you have a very bad PSU for your strong 980 ti

also as you said while gaming right ?

it.s because your Corsair cant handle the load

one more time

it.s not about 750 watt or 650 watt PSU

it.s about quality

I will buy seasonic G650 650 watt

look at the score between

your 750 watt psu

A PSU can cause stutter even when it's more than enough watts? This is news to me

The CX line is not absolute crap, it's Tier 3 which means it's decent.

I have a 3 year warranty on both the card and the PSU, I'm not too worried about it.

Not likely to cause stutter, but that line is well feared on these forums.

Ehh PSU could cause it. Maybe. Hitching is often a pain to diagnose and it can often be as simple as a sick OS install.

Let's run with the GPU for now. Run afterburner in the background while you game for a bit and watch the clock speed and memory speed. Watch for it dipping when the hitch occurs. If this happens it could be PSU, driver or the card itself.
