So I've been trying to get a video to render for my YT channel (KB_TheDireWolf), However am working with file and video setting am not used to using. I was able to record on my friends rig with an R9 285 in it, so I have War Thunder maxed out at 1080p, something I wish I could do all the time (need like C$300 more for a gaming build)....... However I've been trying to get movie maker to render the 30min long video and well its not working.....

When I try to use the high 1080p presets for WMM it will produce a file, but I cant play it because Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file, and I tried to uploaded to YT and well 10 hours after it uploaded it was still being processed.

So then I used the YouTube preset it would do 1080p, and the file would play, but its tessellating really badly and looks like a baboon's ass when he is shaking it around lol.

Any help.....

Just so we're clear, you're using Windows Movie Maker?  Like from the XP days?  I didn't know anyone had ever tried, let alone was still trying.

I would recommend Adobe Premiere, but if it must be free... not sure

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Try to create your own preset settings for the render file instead, it should negate any pre-done BS settings.

Oh hush, WMM works perfectly fine.

How with WMM?

Well, ok I assume they've updated it (actually didn't know it still existed, but if I had, I would think it had been updated), I've just not heard of it since then so I was checking that we were thinking of the same package.

Anyway, I've given my best suggestion so I'm going to bow out and let anyone with more knowledge in this space try and work this out.

MP4 on WMM uses VARIABLE bitrates, even if you choose 16000kbps data rates, it uses that as an average, not a constant.

This is why is can look like shit, the variable part makes the quality too low, WMM is pretty bad in general for quality anyway...

Using WMV instead of MP4 uses constant bitrates, higher filesizes, similar/slightly better quality (cos bitrates) and usually has no issue uploading to YT.

I had these same problems (processing FOREVER) using WMM and mp4, switched to WMV using WMM, and its fine.

/Make a custom profile, 1080p 25-40mb @ whatever fps, then when saving file location, use WMV from the dropdown, not mp4.

But there are also many free video editors out there... which could prob do much better.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
