This happened before when they "gave out" a free game to owners of SimCity. Lots of people also went ahead and bought it since they honored those too.

I feel like that's justification. Crashes during Steam Sales prevent you from accessing new games just as much as today did with origin. Moreover, the size of a sale ought to be irrelevant to an end user. It either works or it doesn't. Origin handles less of a load than Steam simply because it's a smaller platform. If you're going to fault one platform, at least be consistent about it. Steam isn't the perfect client, either. Does anyone remember the hate Steam got when it was as early in the game as Origin is currently?

 

The only thing broken for me was the code redemption as well. Everything else was functional.

People just accept it and get on with their lives. People are only hating on a pretty decent service (Origin) because it's EA. I like Origin, and before now I've had very few problems with it.

I totally agree with you guys. EA does something good, and everybody hates on them because their servers couldn't handle the ridiculous amount of activations and downloads it was getting.

I don't see people hating on Linus or Slick when the forum goes down...
