Hello, how are you?

I am curious in this.

What would be better for gaming and provide the better experience and also be able to handle AAA games better now and in the future?

The first option is a TN display with a 980m 4gb onboard.

The second option is an IPS display with a 970m 6gb MXM and Gsync.

What would be your pick for gaming? And why?

Thanks for the help.

Cheers!

SNIP

I would probably still go for the 980m,  as its SUPER powerful

but the IPS and Gsync are great and MXM means future upgradablity and the 970m is very powerful for 1080p gaming (currently in the laptop I am reviewing)

However, there might be more choices out there, what is your budget? there are laptops with IPS, Gsync and 980m or the new GTX 980

After playing some Tomb Raider, get the g-sync one. Some games just can't deal with the tearing man.

980m destroys everything, heck it even destroys desktop AMD R9 300 series altogether... NVIDIA went BATSHIT crazy with the 980m.

980 is p705.

970 is u706.

Cheers!

I suggest you wait a little more for the P706. It would most probably come with 980M 8GB GDDR5, Skylake (definitely), and G-Sync.

980m is a bit weaker than a 970. 970m is almost exactly a 960. I would recommend a 970m +g-sync as it's a better 1080p experience and g-sync will be a godsend as the computer becomes less and less capable of driving 60fps at time goes on (with newer titles).
