can i OC the 8350 on a hyper 212 evo or do i need better cooling ?

depending on how much "oc" you want to do.

 

if you tell us your target, we might be able to give a better input

 

obviously if you're pushing it, water cooling's the way to go :)

You can overclock with the hyper 212. Just make sure your temps don't go too high

always rather ask yourself, are my temperatures acceptable?

you should be fine with the hyper 212 evo.

I got up to 4.4 on my hyper 212 no problems but any higher and the cooler seems like it couldn't take it

i found that the voltage (not HT/multi) was the major factor on heat. grasping for

big voltages over 1.4v seems to really charge the 212 tower really hard. masking

it with more fans helps, but in the end louder for minimal gains. the megahalems

single is quite larger and can handle more than the 212, but a price tag to boot

with the likes of the D14/Phanteks/Silver Arrow by the time you add fans.

unless you need monster GHz.. 4.3/4.4/4.5 seems to fill the bill for most appz..
