overclocking

is 1.4V way to much for haswell? because i got my i5 4670k to 4.5 Ghzs with 1.335V but it takes around 1.380V to run 4.6 ghz

Yep, 1.35 would be the absolute max is what I'v read.

Usually 1..35 is considered the max, but if you want to take a risk with 1.4 go for it :P

For Haswell based chips 1.35V is what Intel considers the max safe voltage for a stable 24/7 overclock. Anything more than that might damage the processor and shorten its lifespan. I don't know what kind of cooling you have going on there, but I wouldn't really push it too far.

PS: The processor Linus used with that phase cooling died, so yeah, don't take that as a benchmark.
