Help Deciding on a Job?

Guest Philosophy
Go to solution Solved by Guest Philosophy,

Not at all.

It may have a greater (possible) risk factor, yes. But that in no way means you will die before someone who has an office job.

There's also PTSD-induced suicide. But that's another matter.

I have not died yet, I worked in it, in some way for 6 years xD

So I have two options:

A. Work as a driver for a very wealthy man driving him around in his Mercedes. He pays 30 Dollars/Hour. Guaranteed job for at-least a couple years.

B. Trying to find another job in Law Enforcement (6 years experience) but no guarantee I will get it, tough industry to get back into.

A. Sit and drive.

B. Risk your life?

I risked my life before and I would happily do it again. It gives you the feeling of doing the right thing when you truly help someone. I love the feeling of helping people, being their white knight.

Your choice my friend but I doubt that your family (if you have one or planning to have one) will love your job. You can help others without risking your life. Personally I wouldn't do law enforcement partly because I like my life, love my family, girlfriend and hate the idea that one day I'll take a knife to a gut and never come back. Sitting down and turning a wheel seems a more sensible option.

B. You found your answer.

If you gain satisfaction from doing it, it's better to pick the job you like doing.

I'll more likely be shot than knifed. I work in the US.

Methinks driving is more practical. Plus you have time on your side to do other sidelines (something online? companies nowadays hire social media managers and you can do that while parked and waiting for your boss)

Your the philosophical one here, the answer should be easy for you to find eh?

Do what you love doing most and obtain what you find the most valuable(whether it be money, happiness, or that sense of moral justice that you'd enacted).

Well.. Your choice mate. When you pick option B every day might be your last.

When you pick option [anything] every day might be your last.

Think about that now.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

You're right. But that options speeds it up quite a bit.

It's all in the cosmic energy. It's kind of like with cigarettes- some can smoke for 60 years and die at 110 and some can die after 10 years of smoking.

Option A seems to be the safer option. $30 an hour just to drive a guy around is awesome.

Is option A a guaranteed 40 hour work week, or is it an on-call thing? Will you be able to reliably budget the income from that? Does it come with medical/dental insurance? Does it include contributions to a retirement fund?
