HyperX Cloud 2 Soundcard USB.

Hopsasa

So i have the Crystal Sound 2 integrated soundcard with my new mobo. But i can't use it cause the HyperX 2 Headset has the little soundcard thingy also used for virtual surround sound. Can i allow it to use the soundcard from the mobo? Maybe this question is hard to answer but im trying to see if you geniuses know :D

If you plug the 2 3.5mm jacks into your motherboard instead of the dongle, then you can use the mobo audio.

No as the HyperX Cloud II's use a 3 pole jack so you won't get the mic on it at all. I own them myself and already tried with my XPower

What do you mean allow it to use soundcard from the mobo, just plug it in. Cloud 2 is an analog headset, it literally has no idea if you are using the soundcard thingy or not.

3 pole 3.5mm jack laptops and phones will have no issues. Desktops will as they normal have a input for the mic and the stand alone sound.

Well of course. That's why you can get an adapter...

You lose Independent Mic volume control stand alone mute and then the ghetto surround. Also I do have an adapter as well and its meh trying to run it as the headset no longer becomes its own audio source that you can switch between it and any other audio outputs that you have.

You lose everything that you lose with having the included soundcard installed. The headset itself is analog it makes no difference if you adapt it or not.

I know, I won't run any adapter with mine anymore as I can't stand not being able to set it as its own audio source or not.

for it to use your mobo audio you would have to plug it direct into the mobo, if you wanted to still use your mic you would need this http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00S0RWKAS/ref=s9_simh_gw_p147_d50_i2?pf_rd_m=A3DWYIK6Y9EEQB&pf_rd_s=desktop-3&pf_rd_r=13F4G87SSW8KXE05RTGE&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=2055624242&pf_rd_i=desktop  the headset has a 4 pole conector which has mic and audio in one for phones and laptop, this splits it into two 3 pole connections which you plug into the audio and mic jack on your mother board, if you do this i suggest get another brand unless you want to wait a month since it comes from china on snail mail, i ordered one myself, it works good but there's a decent wait

Then next time try counting.

I get them mixed up cause I forget the pole count isn't the black bands its the sections of it. So no need to be rude, its a simple mistake

I want people to improve upon their mistakes. I think it is rude to not do so.

Maybe try thinking about it this way: headphones need a wire for left, right, and ground. That's a TRS connection (tip, ring, sleeve). Headsets add a mic which needs one extra cable. That's a TRRS connection (tip, ring, ring, sleeve).

I understand, the more I learn the better. That was the best way of putting it for me thank you.

And mono needs audio and ground.

And 1 pole would be a very useless connector unless paired with another.
