A question regarding LSVD cables

Go to solution Solved by Glenwing,

So I have an old laptop with a broken screen that I cannot get to output HDMI to another monitor, long story short, took it apart, found a strange cable.

I did some research and found out the cable is a LSVD cable that connects the laptop's display to the motherboard. My plan was to (since the rest of the laptop is fully functional), somehow get HDMI out of that LSVD (adapters I guess) and plug it into my monitor like I've seen some people do with their laptops with broken screens. However, sadly, I could not find any sort of tutorial, explanation or documentation on this apart from some basic youtube videos showing how to change a laptop's broken screen.

By now I'm pretty sure I can't just adapt LSVD to HDMI but need some sort of a controller - like the one on the back of my broken screen, I've looked for that on Ebay, only problem is I have no idea what I want/need or actually anything about LSVD.

Would someone care to explain how I would go about adapting it to HDMI/VGA/whatever is possible..?

I think this is what you are looking for:

Take care! LVDS is an electrical standart, but not a mechanical one like HDMI. The cables will probably not fit, and even if they do the pinning can be false. The interface is normally custon designed the the specific display and nit interchangeable. Without the knowledge of the controller used in the display and the pinning of the connector it's very difficult to reverse engineer an adapter.

The adapter glenwing found is not expensive so it's may worth a try but be warned.
