BASH

Go to solution Solved by byalexandr,

so um

i cant do ls and cd and any commands like that

its so weird

You need to revert back to root. Or at least in Linux that's how it's done. You can't cd because cd will just bring you back to the bash root. Exit the terminal and restart it.

Dunno I know Linux not Macintosh. Even though they are similar, I haven't heard of the bash thingy before. Read the article I linked.

but it doesnt explain what bash is

WHAT KIND OF BLACK MAGIC IS THIS

OFF TOPIC: I suggest every poll from now on to have "**CK EA" option instead of "Other"

its giving me incorrect info

"When you open terminal it automatically prompts you with a bash shell. Bash is a unix based shell created by a programmer named Brian Fox while he worked for the Free Software Foundation."

according to the website is incorrect because i have to physically type "bash" to bring up this thing

Oh okay, it's the default shell for Mac.

When you open terminal it automatically prompts you with a bash shell. Bash is a unix based shell created by a programmer named Brian Fox while he worked for the Free Software Foundation.

i have to type bash

its different?

Well I mean both of them are Unix based, so shouldn't the foundation be very similar?

I don't know Linux to well, but I know (at least in some distros - not sure if this works in all of them) that if you type "sudo bash" then it'll say bash on the left side of your cursor.

Other than that I honestly have no idea what it is.

I actually couldn't underclock my 5 year old GPU to make it as slow as a next-gen console.

Well Mac and Unix are different. Bash is a command shell for Unix, I guess your Mac version uses something else as the default command shell.
