Do I need to do anything to optimize my 980TI for gaming?

Hey guys,

 

I have a new system with an MSI 980TI and I am wondering if there is anything I need to do before I start gaming (I am going to try out CS:GO and The Witcher 3 later)? Anything you guys recommend I do to my system to optimize it for gaming?

install newest drivers from nvidia

Just the usual. Update/install all the latest drivers. As for the hardware side, you're pretty gonna have to settle for what you have. What's your PC specs?

Nice! Just update everything to latest version, be it motherboard bios driver, storage solution or GPU. Also, use display port connection on your display. I think those perform better than HDMI.

 

If you're using 21:9 monitor, use/optimize it using some 3rd party programs like FlawlessWidescreen.

Yea my monitor is an ASUS MX279H...1080P and 60Hz unfortunately. I plan on getting the new ASUS PG279Q when it comes out though. I have updated all my drivers, etc.

Yeah 980Ti is overkill for 1080p. I am personally waiting for some holiday deals to come so I can pickup a 1440p with Gsync for a lot cheaper.
