M8, is there any reason why you want the i7 with a 960? I think if you;re just gaming it'd be better to get a gpu GPU and a i5.

I also have to do a lot of video editing, rendering etc. So my thoughts were better CPU is better videoing

1080p. However for a game ill be playing 1024x768 if I remember correctly

here's something to consider. the monitor is a 1440p monitor though. you can switch it for the Asus VG248QE which is a 1080p monitor if you want. this is a NON SLI build though.

First time building a computer. Just want some constructive feedback on the system. Also you can recommend changes. Please note my budget is max $2100-2200 including peripherals

Rienks,

Here's my recommended computer build.

For gaming purposes, you really don't need an i7 processor.

It's not necessary to have a liquid based CPU cooler. I selected an excellent air based CPU cooler.

CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-U12S 55.0 CFM CPU Cooler  ($73.56 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 3 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($120.99 @ Amazon)
Storage: Transcend SSD370 128GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($57.99 @ Amazon)
Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 960 4GB Video Card  ($219.99 @ Newegg)
Case: Corsair 300R ATX Mid Tower Case  ($69.99 @ Newegg)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM (64-bit)  ($98.20 @ Amazon)
Monitor: BenQ XL2411Z 144Hz 24.0" Monitor  ($269.00 @ Amazon)
Keyboard: Logitech G710 Plus Wired Gaming Keyboard  ($93.99 @ Amazon)
Mouse: Logitech G402 Wired Optical Mouse  ($49.95 @ Amazon)
Headphones: Logitech G633 Artemis Spectrum 7.1 Channel Headset  ($149.99 @ Amazon)
Other: Logitech G440 Hard Mouse Pad ($29.99)
Total: $1777.08
