I use chrome as my everyday browser, but I hate that when you open an new tab you see all of your frequently visited sites.  Is there a way to remove this?  I don't like the idea of opening a blank tab like some have suggested because I want to see my theme; this is why I have the problem in the first place.

I like to set it to the chrome://apps page

then I have a bunch of shortcuts there to google, gmail, youtube, etc...
