780t vs haf x

Trying to pick a case for airflow and noise and looks.I'm liking the 780t but how much better is the haf x at air cooling? Not going to do any water cooling. I have 2 780ti dual classified gpus.

I own both a HAF 932 and HAF 912 (HAFX is the HAF 942).

The HAF line of cases (aside from the HAF stacker) are relatively old case designs -- they heavily lack most of the features found on newer cases.

All-In-One liquid coolers could be troublesome unless you do some minor modifications (i.e. screw alignments...or 120mm/140mm fan support, etc).

 

If you have the option, look at some other alternatives to the HAFX. Personally, the cases from Phanteks is my "go-to" as of 2015.

What components are being used with the computer case?

 

In the $180 and under price point...

• Corsair 750D (or any of their Obsidian series)
• Phanteks Enthoo Luxe
• Phanteks Enthoo Pro
• Fractal Design R4/R5

I find the Corsair Graphite series, and NZXT lines, to be way too "plastic."

The H440 and Noctis 450 is quite nice, but is not that great airflow wise -- too much obstruction at the front intake fans.

 

 

A portion of choosing a case is personal preference, but it should also meets your needs

• How many fans can it support?
• Radiator support (if applicable)?
• Enough space to support multiple graphics cards (if applicable)?
• Is it too big / small?
• etc.

In terms of airflow, they are all about at the same level; 780T, 750D, Enthoo Pro/Luxe.

The Fractal Define R4/R5 may be a tiny bit more restrictive on airflow simply because it is designed to be a silent / noise dampening chassis.

 

Just don't go for a HAFX, especially with a ~$180 price tag.

It was a nice case back in 2010/2011, but certainly not in 2015/2016.

there are the fractal arc series, too. the arc midi r2 mid tower and XL full tower

if airflow is the needed convention. well under the $180 price tag.
