Hello, I am helping my friend build his first gaming rig and it's been awhile since I have built one. (2000 USD)

I have some ideas but I would like input on what to get him.

He needs all peripherals excluding a headset, also he knows he wants a Razer DeathAdder and black widow (Both chroma)(He wants the mouse for sure but the keyboard can change).

This includes speakers, monitor, mouse, keyboard, operating system (Windows 10 would be nice).

He wants either a gtx 970, 980 or better (Suggestions). (Also he may get a second in the future but that doesn't affect the budget).

White and black is what he wants for a color scheme if possible. (He likes the Nzxt Phantoms but anything would be appreciated).

Any help would be appreciated, thank you for your time!

I do not suggest Razer products. I will show him mine, they are made very cheap. Have him look in Mionix Castor, as for the keyboard I again sInce again, they are cheap for a reason. I highly suggest Corsair or Ducky ( and some may know I do not like Corsair )

2k is a really odd budget especially with peripherals, If he needs the price cut down. he could switch to a 1TB WD Blue instead of a 2TB WD Black

Also a 390x is a good alternative to a  980Ti

Awesome all around build with White & Black theme, a great 1080p gaming monitor, even managed to get some pretty awesome speakers & a blu ray reader, which you may or may not use, if not you can drop it and get an even better monitor! I hope you consider this build and I hope your friend enjoys! Also 2$ under budget :D

Not really lol. The 390x is a good alternative to the 980 as it performs similarly and costs slightly less, however the 980ti smokes both the 980 and 390x, as well as the Fury, and Fury X.

Keep in mind it costs some 240 dollars less too...

Also if you look at the next page the 390x gets a bit of an edge on 2k Theif and Witcher 3 and Shadow of Mordor

and I can go on :P you have to take into consideration the 200+ dollar price difference. As you can see I went 50 or so dollars over budget thats why I initially recommended it

lets face the fact tho

your build is better >.>
