how would you improve this?

Go to solution Solved by techguru,

change the crucial bx to a mx

the bx is crippled

change the seagate to a wd

don't use wifi..get some powerline adapters

I personally believe this to be a good build, I changed it all to Newegg UK, and left me with £70 spare, how would you improve it?

I have my desk really far away from the Router: is powerline really as good as it seems?

Thanks, but you cannot call this "crippled".

The BX100 is still a great drive and comes probably at a lower price point than any of the MX drives for almost the same performance.

Especially if used as a boot drive it won't be an issue at all. The article even says that it performs almsot as good and sometimes even better than an MX100. ("In real world performance, the BX100 nearly catches up (and once in a while pulls ahead) to the MX100 Series.")

I'm using a much slower Kingston V300 as my boot drive, which works really well. PC boots in under 15 seconds and programs run quick and are very responsive.

I don't see any reason to buy an MX100 or MX200 drive in his case. Only if the drives come at pretty much the same price it would make sense imo.

Edit: It even looks like the 850 Evo is cheaper than an MX200.

Yes I get that. But does he want that, too?

You shouldn't simply tell him to buy a more expensive drive if he actually doesn't need it.

We aren't here to tell him our personal preferences. :P

Don't use Newegg UK it's way too expensive adds like £100 tax

Well, you're kinda right here. I'm sorry.

But I see it way to often that people simply recommend stuff that they like instead of actually helping the person out.
