Professional Online Contract ?

So, I am starting to get contracts here and there. And I found that most of them are from other countries.  What could I do to make things official. rather than just an ''ok'' sent by email ?  I really need a good way. since. iv already been stolen one of my logos for a company. And I would appreciate if that would not happen again anytime soon.

thanks for the help ! Its greatly appreciated !

For anyone wondering, he does graphics work

Just basically set out the conditions that you're making the artwork on, and have them type back that they agree or something similar

EDIT: I'm saying that the user should type to acknowledge the agreement, as most people have become used to the checkboxes, that it doesn't even matter whether there is or isn't one there

yeah. but still. how would you go about it to prevent someone stealing your stuff. and not paying you if they are in a different country ?.  its not like they actually signed anything.

Consult a lawyer.

And always get your clients to send you signed originals/duplicates of the contracts or agreements.  Don't rely on emails or fax.  Don't rely on scans, don't rely on photo copies.  Always get the printed copy with their original signature on the document, even if they have to send it by express snail mail.

official =/= anything online really.

If you want to make sure that any contract acceptance is taken as "official" then you need them to provide a valid form of identification along with their acceptance of said contract; that way you have valid proof of acceptance, aside from an unconfirmed email account saying "yes" or some crap like that.

I believe you can copyright your logo's and stuff, seen a few people on deviantart do it.

I think the website is copyright.com

how about you just put something on the logo that is associated to you, thus making that logo unusable for commercial use and not steal-able

kinda like this:

Copyright in this case is bit problematic. If you sell something you made to someone else, you are selling the copyright with it. If its one time deal, like with logos. If you are selling just copies, then copyright applies. Latest Tek talked about that with some plan drawings for house.

Only thing I see is to give out previews or low res pics to customer and give full res versions (and whatever else you provide) after payment.

the thing is, the guy baically took the picture, and re-draw it over mine. that had a huge watermark on it. and stole it that way.

that is what I want to avoid happening.
