And 4 case fans

if you're going to buy a new psu and you want to stay with x1 970 with an overclock on both the cpu and gpu, you only need a 500w psu at the most. i would recommend the following:

SeaSonic M12II 520 Bronze (520w)

or

EVGA 220-GS-0550-V1 (550w)

if you want to go sli, you'll have to upgrade your motherboard and psu. the wattage needed for x2 970's in sli will be around 600w in total (including a cpu overclock).

Fist of all i know a corsair cx500 was a bad idea now but not a year ago. Anyways recently i've had a issue with my psu there's been small thing's like frame drops but on intense load it shutdown without a bsod and reboot's. This have happened a around when i sent my computer oversees and my case (corsair 330r) was damged with the psu inside but i did not think much about it.  Since then the issue has appeared. If it is the psu that's failing im planning to get a evga supernova gs 650w. What do you think the underlining problem is?

Here's the build just in case

it could be anything. hard to say really. what cpu and gpu do you have currently?

it is possible that the psu is the culprit

I wouldn't say that's proof, because it sounds like you did the same thing as before.

The best way to troubleshoot a power supply is to try a different unit.  But if you don't have one.. well.. then I guess you'd have to either buy or borrow one.
