I have to ask a silly question, do you even Steam Bro?

I don't get what you are asking. I buy my games from g2a and activate them on steam.

I managed to get it stable at 4.8GHz but I gave up on tweaking it. Went back to stock clocks since I don't trust my current TIM and I want to get an extra fan on the rad. The wiki page is severely outdated. I should probably fix that but I got hooked on D3 again so no chance of that real soon :P

My last firestrike bench was at 1080MHz and I can bump it up to 1120 in Gaming mode, but that gave me a bit of a headache after upgrading to Win10

I'm probably going to get back onto overclocking the CPU and the GPU once November hits (or slightly chillier weather. Room temp skyrockets - I was sitting at 36C on Sunday morning and had to turn the AC on at 16C just so I could get to a more tolerable 24-26C -, since the PC is on pretty much 24/7 and I can't have the AC on all the time since I don't live alone and it's not in my room)

CPU-Z of my highest stable OC :D

Sheet on highest I've ever managed to get. Kept stable for about 12 hours during bench, then it crashed forcing me to go back to stock: http://valid.x86.fr/ityw79

why not just bump it back down a little bit to like 4.4ghz or something? why all the way back to stock? i get you with MSX though, can be a pain sometimes (not to even mention the privacy concerns). it is okay though, and it will get a lot better with time i imagine

It was pretty late on a workday and I couldn't be bothered to do anymore tweaking. Had alot of work-related things to take care of then I got sick and didn't really have the time or energy to bump it back up. Even at stock (with a 4GHz boost clock) I don't have issues or bottlenecks in games, as far as I can tell (1680x1050+1280x1024 display setup, only playing on main monitor)

The temp issues are kind of holding me back from overclocking again. I'd want to get a couple of SP fans on the rad before I try again (currently only have a single 120mm AF cooler on the rad which struggles to keep the temp when it gets out of hand.) Ideally aiming for a max of 40C maxtemp under load, but that will take some time since I also have to tinker with the fan curves and the fact that my mobo only has 2 PWM headers makes it tricky.

I'm considering buying a fan controller but I'm unsure of the benefit of one

I've got a bunch... :D

-Getting crossfire setup for the first time and getting it to work properly (silly AMD Overdrive and Powertune).

-Getting used to using multiple monitors and feeling claustrophobic when forced to use a PC with only one.

-When using water to cool the GPUs in your system is a necessity

-When your PC runs so quiet, you have to put your ear right up to it to confirm it's still running.

-When you're playing a game and you have to alt-tab out to change the podcast you're watching/listening to.

-When you get distracted looking in the side panel window of your PC and get killed in the game you were playing (true story lol).

-When you have so many windows/tabs/programs open at once and you forget what the heck you were doing.

-When you spend more time tweaking the graphics settings than you do playing the actual game.

-When you spend hours tweaking and testing your system fan curves/settings.

Weird screen res combo (main display is 1650x1050 and secondary is 1280x1024). Because I use spanned wallpapers, they need to be at least 8k for them not to look like utter shit.

Same, I have a primary 1080p monitor and a secondary 1600 by 900p monitor

dude just clone your boot ssd

That doesn't work for me. Alienware didn't partition my 1TB boot HDD, so I can't clone anything onto my SSD without getting deleting my entire library of games. Only way to install Windows is to get a new Win 7 CD (Which completely fucked up), or upgrade to 10 on the HDD and then create a new USB stick and put that on the SSD
