You can use a DVR, Sony used to make those (not sure if they still do)

But Hauppage made a HD PVR too, which was able to directly record to a flash drive (or other USB storage device that does not need that much power). I think it was called something like HD PVR portable, or something silly like that.

 

But if I remember correctly, you are able to have HDMI in with that thing and HDMI out.

Hello everyone :)
I want to record my TV programs, so I'm looking for a capture with a HDD, I can't connect the video capture to a PC. The capture must to be connected to the decoder and record. Is that possible?
