PS2 Controller?

Both my old PS2 controllers are kinda dying, they are not as good anymore.

I still use my PS2 console, so I am talking about using it on the system.

What are my possiblities.

 

Anybody know if you can convert or whatever a GameCube controller to PS2? (it is missing 2 buttons or so though) or can I use PS3 controllers on PS2?

Or should I just try to get some cheap 2nd hand PS2 controller and try my luck..

I still keep using PS2 controllers (I have a USB adapter :P)

I mean I want to use the controller on my console, not pc
