Low draw distance / LOD in all games

ShellShock

so basically in all the games i play there is a certain distance at which textures like shadows, grass, and rocks will load. the problem is that this distance is so short that it ruins my gaming experience. Basically as somebody has described it before, there's an invisible bubble around my character where all textures and detail show perfectly fine, but outside of that bubble they will not appear. i can be walking through a field of grass in GTA V and i will see the textures appear out of nowhere as i keep walking. as i move back a little bit, they will disappear as they get outside of this small bubble that i described.

here's a a link i found of a person who is having the same issue as me.

http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2135966/strange-lod-shadow-issue-games.html

I have an I7-4790k, gtx 970, 1tb hdd, 8gb ram,

if anybody could provide any info on this issue i would really appreciate it.

anisotropic filtering? or slow HDD loading of textures?

Might be loading of the textures.

Either that or running low on vram. 4GB on the 970 should be enough tho

thats Level of Detail

present in every game out there since gpus are too weak to render such ridiculous amount of detail at far away (or even MID) distances

problem is, usually the distance is enough close so you see pop ins, either texture, model or shadow

make sure you max render distance out and maybe disable some of the taxing stuff

thats the price you have to pay to play a game made out of polygons and textures :D games are increasing detail all the time, so you have to keep buying new gpus

we will have to wait for Euclideon to fix this.

ok I managed to take a few quick screencaps, I can probably do a better job if I try to make a video later but I gotta head out the door pretty soon.

here's the link for the screencaps I took. you can see in each picture how the detail in the shadow increases as I get closer to it

I understand what you're saying. my issue is just that there is a certain line where it starts to cut off these certain things like the detail of the shadow, in the screenshots I posted, and the distance is so close that its just so easily noticeable.

my gtx 970 can run most of the games I play well above 60fps at 1080p. but maybe the issue i'm having might be something else. maybe it's just not even a real issue at all like you're explaining. or, if buying a better gpu is all I need to do, then I could deal with that.

Just how the game is I would have though, probably look the same on anyone's PC.
