Need CPU choice for Solidwork Build

I am planning to build a Solidwork rendering PC for photoview 360, I was wondering if dual CPU system will render faster?

 

Parts I'm looking at:

 

Intel Core I7 6700K

Intel Core I7 3820

AMD FX9590

Next gen AMD CPU

 

but im also considering

 

AMD Opteron line-ups

 

as for the rest ill probably get

 

1000W PSU

AMD Firepro w7100

32GB-64GB DDr4

Server grade motherboard

I havent used solidworks before but if its like any other similar software then i would personally go for a 5820k or lga 2011v3 xeon(s)

I'd go for 2 Xeon E5-2699 V3's for optimal rendering times.

An x99 system would be ideal for it barring cost of course, I believe an Intel processor would fair better since it has higher IPC don't quote me on that though, Solidworks is a CPU intensive program when doing rendering.

I am really wondering how it will perform on rendering, does it have hyperthreading like intel? if so then a 16 block rendering cubes will render much faster than a 8 block intel quad-core ones but im not familiar with AMD cpus....

The FX platform has modules each one share resources but has 2 processing cores, so its a 4 module 8 core processor, but its IPC sucks ass.

Truth but that costs BANK.  I have one E5 2698 v3 and it crushes everything I throw at it:

AutoCAD, Inventor, 3DS Max, VRay, Sketchup.  You need good memory.  I have 64GB of DDR4 (Dominator Platinum) and have tapped 70+% of it.

 

Do you have 2 2699's?  You don't see that often.

In the US a 6700k plus a good mobo costs about the same (or more if you have access to a microcenter) as a 5820k with a similar quality mobo (because basically all x99 mobos are really good).

The 5820k will obliterate the 6700k and all amd cpus at all rendering. Especially if you overclock the 5820k (which starts at like 3.3 turbo but can easily reach 4.3-4.6 oc'd).

No amd does not currently support hyperthreading (the way Intel uses it). In fact it would be closer to reality to consider the 9590 as a 4 core than a true 8 core as a significant amount of the resources and computation is shared between 4 "modules" of the amd "8 core" chip.

I dunno the FX-9590 with 1866MHz CL9 RAM should work fine for video work! :D (the ONLY problem is motherboard and water cooler requirements...) 

 

ASUS Crosshair Formula Z, AM3+ & Cooler Master Seidon 120V is mandatory for the FX-9590 to not burn or fry the motherboard!!! :P

Don't get the FX 9000 Series.

 

Just get a FX 8350 if you're going AMD.

 

Otherwise, Intel is better solution.

Xeon with a igpu. Its igpu are certified for professional programs like solid works. Might want to look at broadwell based xeons, since it uses the professional version of the iris pro and its also certified for professional programs.

2699 v3 is outdated. 4669 v3 is the new king.
