If WallpaperWebpage works in compatibility mode try that. I doubt Rainmeter offers that its been a while since I last used that.

When you create a new topic you are giving the option in Post options to follow your thread, otherwise just press the follow this topic at the top of the thread and select any options you want and then you are set.

Active desktop... never, never ask for this, it was a horrible buggy bit of code back in xp, and it is still horrible.
