Looking for a Blu-ray player - Buying help please.

Hey everyone!

I'm looking into getting a blu-ray player and was looking at the BDPS1500 from Sony, this one (http://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/blu-ray-disc-players/bdp-s1500/specifications)

On the website it says it supports both NTSC and PAL (I live in a PAL country)

But most the blu-rays I want to buy are US imports and after doing some research, apparently this blu-ray player is region locked to depending where you buy it. (Sony lying on their website)

1. I'm not sure if this is true or not

2. If it is true, it is no longer on my list, so...

What I want is your help in suggestions for a blu-ray player that is REGION-FREE/UNLOCKED and at max £75 including shipping.

Thanks for your help!

I'd look somewhere else if people are reporting if it's not region locked

Do you have any suggestions for a region free/unlocked blu-ray player?

I have also heard there are region unlock codes available, but do they work? From what I have seen there isn't one for this player.

How bout a used ps3?

Also if you buy it from a retailer where you live I don't imagine it would be region locked. If it is just return it.

That's what my original thought was. But I know that most PS3's are region locked.

So I have decided I'm going to import a player from America (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151402859485?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT) and buy a UK version as well (http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00B79IZI2/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3N4JYMZREEQII&coliid=I3HOZS4PVV2CF7). While having two drives is not ideal, it would be a lot simpler and less of a headache for me. Plus since it will  plug into my computer, it will solve a potential issue I might have come across (http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/450446-is-this-possible-would-like-some-help-please)

What about a blu-ray odd, those aren't region locked right?

I think they maybe region locked as well. I just salvaged an old Lightscribe ODD from my parents PC and tried to switch the region through Windows (Which is possible, apparently) but Windows stated it needs a disk of what ever region I am swapping to in the drive. So rather than mess around buying a blu-ray ODD and an import blu-ray only to find it doesn't work, I may as well skip all the BS and just import an ODD and have two separate ones with their own region locks.

Good idea on using the USB drives like this!

Because otherwuse you are looking at something like this: http://www.amazon.com/E-More%C2%AE-Ouality-Digital-Optical-Surround/dp/B00Q4KYW5E/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1442506429&sr=1-1&keywords=Coaxial+to+3.2+surround

to convert that coaxial to seperate analog (plus adaptors).
