Which CPU, GPU and Motherboard?

Hi, This is my first time on linus tech, I hope it's legit,

I have been looking into Computer hardware for quite some time, however as you can immagine money is sometimes hard to come by,

However I am prepared to start building an ultimate gaming rig which will take me hopefully around 6 months,

I wanted to start by buying a motherboard a cpu and a gpu,

So far I have had trouble choosing, I want my system to be optimised for upgradability, so I am not too worried about the price as It will be over a long time span,

I first wanted to focus on a verry good motherboard that will last hopefully five to however many years, I really want a top class motherboard, what do you recommend,

Are there motherboards with dual cpu compatibility?

Please tell me which you think is the best one out there.

I am soon going to hong kong, so I can buy several of the most expensive things at a cheaper price, does anybody know which graphics card and procsessor is best for future games,

I want 2 graphics cards at the moment but I will be upgrading in a year probably, is the titan x worth it right now or will it fail to run with high resolution, I will probably stick with a 3k monitor as anything more is pointless, if that's not possible then 4k.

which CPU(S) if it is possible to have two, should I buy.

Finally what time of year is best to buy all of my equipment, is there a time when prices drop significantly or when new products are released?

My advise is choose the CPU slot you want and go from there. 1150 offers bang for the buck. 1151 has DDR4 and Skylake. Both have Z chips available and will xfire. I'm not a AMD guy so can't comment on that.

Just a reminder, Money Is not relly a problem anymore, I am prepared to spend the money I just need to know a good rig that will be able to play all games on maxed graphics, I am also doing a lot of 3d design so I need a computer that wont fail in that hence the I7 processors, any tips on the motherboards?

I am more an intel guy, I feel more comfortable with their systems and gefroce graphics.

in the uk theyre the same price, it doesnt need a water cooler.look at the graph, the fps difference is big.

I'm a fan of Gigabyte and the duel bios, and I have had no issue navigating them have zero experience with computers just months ago. Asus is also a great brand with a strong following.

If this person wants a 144MHz monitor at 1080P then yes but if not then there is no reason to get the 980Ti over Fury X...

I doubt he plan to play at 3k to 4k with 144+ FPS... (Also I am damn sure two Fury Xs in crossfire will do better than 2 980Tis)

you dont get the point.... why buy something thats the same price as something else when one performs better.... its  not about what you play on, its about which is going to run games longer, and how it performs.

But they're not the same price, here in the US there is a 100 dollar difference in favor of the Furyx

Dude crossfire is better than SLI and if this person aims for 60FPS+ on a 4K display then Fury X(x2) is a better choice then two 980Ti...

thats not true , sli scales very well.  lot of the time more than 80%

lol PCper themselfs says the AMD Fury X even with those early drivers scaled better! (look at youtube!)

 

You most remember FPS is not all fram-time matters to!
