Replacing vented side panel with solid one?

Hey all! So I have a corsair 200r case and I'm not a fan (get it? air cooling? I'm funny) of the side panel with the fan mounts. They aren't filtered and just let dust come in. I was thinking about just purchasing another side panel from corsair's site that doesn't have those holes. Do you guys think that would negatively effect cooling too much?

Instead of buying a side panel you can get a foam pad fan place holder (whatever they are called :P) like the ones that come with the R4. If the cooling is bad you can just remove it and have spent less money than if you went to buy a new side panel.

A new panel is $10. xD

it wont effect cooling that much unless there are already fans in there and the bonus to buying a solid panel is less areas for dust to get into your pc

Actually that can help with cooling a bit. Some of your air pressure is being lost out that vent as air slowly meanders out. Putting a solid panel there will force air along the routes its supposed to go.

My wife's machine is currently in a CM Haf XB cube case. It has both a solid & vented top lid. I dropped her CPU temps by 5C by putting the solid lid on & forcing all the air through the heatsink & out the back. Wind tunnel effect.

Good to know! About 10 minutes ago my friend offered to give me his fractal design 140mm fans that came with his case. They can only mount on the side, bot, or top. Should I just put one on the bottom (intake) and one on the top (exhaust)?

I have custom window for made side panel and I've done some testing with it. GPU is the one that will have slightly higher temps. And by slightly I mean max 5C increase under testing with Kombustor.
