Sony STR-DE325 "Mix Out"?

I have just found a very old Sony receiver, the STR-DE325. On the back, it has a "Mix Audio Out" RCA Jack. According to the manual it looks like where you'd hook up a subwoofer, but it goes into no detail. As I plan to use this in a 2.1 setup with a powered sub my questions are-

1. Is this a "standard" line level subwoofer output?

2. Is it full-range, or is there some sort of crossover in the receiver?

3. Does it work in 2-ch stereo modes, or is it only for surround modes?

Thanks!

It's a subwoofer output and is always active.

My Dad used to have an STR-DE225 (IIRC) which was a pro logic receiver. The subwoofer output was always active, whether in stereo or a surround sound playback mode.

You can not alter the crossover point or level of it, so make sure your sub amp has controls for these settings built in.

Does it output a full range signal? Or has a fixed crossover? Thank you SO MUCH!

From memory I believe it is a full range signal. Hence requiring the crossover adjustment on your subwoofer. :)
