Does anybody own a X99 Sabertooth Mobo from ASUS?

If yes What is your experience with it and what does it come with?

If we compare it to Rampage V or X99 deluxe what bells and whistle it doesn't have ?

Is it worth the buy ?

I find the NCIX prebuilt machines to be cheaper with this x99 deluxe but a similar system with the only difference being the mobo being sabertooth that is bought part by part to be expensive including shipping.

The sabertooth is is cheaper than the deluxe individually tho

Sorry for any grammatical errors. I

Own it. Typing on it right now.

Comes with a ridiculous amount of armor, and the usual sprinkling of SATA cables, pwr/rst/led pin-out stand-off, stickers, 5 yr warranty, manual....I'm sure there's an unboxing video somewhere that could glamorize that a bit more, but that's what I remember in the box.

Experience is that it gets the job done. The M.2 slot is in an odd position if you're planning on SLI, but I managed to cram my Hyper Kit in there and everything is functioning as normal. BIOS, like every ASUS BIOS, is excellent. OCing is the same as the X99 Deluxe I moved from.

I can't speak to the Rampage but the Deluxe comes with more features (Bluetooth/Wifi, 2nd NIC is Intel and not ASMedia, better/more PCIe lane placement, fan controller add-in card). Main issue I have with both the Deluxe and Rampage is no 5 year warranty, which the Sabertooth has. I don't need any of the above mentioned features, but at the time of X99 launch and when I built my system Deluxe/Rampage were the only higher end options available. Both boards now come with USB 3.1 Type A on-board, but neither has Type C on-board (AFAIK) which is kind of bummer for how much they cost.

ASUS OC has "issues" It is very easy for AIsuite to try cramming 2V through your CPU, and it doesn't see it as a problem.

I don't use the sabertooth, I use the mobo that the sabertooth wishes it was. In this case you really are paying for a quality component, and my opinion is that it's worth it.

Have the X99 Deluxe. It comes with 2x Intel gigabit lan, 10x usb 3.0, gold plated audio jacks, 3x3 wifi and bluetooth. Ram supports up to 3200MHz (o.c.) and right now it can go up to 128GB with the latest bios update. Supports 3-way SLI when using a Core i7 5820K, has 12x SATA 3 ports, up to 9 fan connectors with the included fan extension hub. You also get 2x M.2 pcie x4. One of them is onboard and the other comes bundle with a PCIe card.

Runit3 mentioned the current ones come with USB 3.1, on the Deluxe there is no difference between the 3.1 and non 3.1. The 3.1 model basically comes bundles with a USB 3.1 card. Other Asus boards, the 3.1 port is actually built in and does not come with a card. So if you want 3.1, then make sure you get the one that has it. For USB type c, it's the same thing, want that, then just grab a usb type c card.  If the physical x4 slot on the Deluxe was x16, then it would have the same amount as the WS.

Thank You

I am seriously considering the Deluxe now

Which mobo ?

Motherboard: ASUS X99E-WS

From their profile :)

It does cost quite a bit more than the Sabertooth, with its 500 dollar price-tag. It is also bigger than standard ATX, so make sure you have a case that supports that.

AMD Ryzen 7800 X3D, MSI B650 Project Zero, Antec C5, Gigabyte RTX 4080 Super Aero

Okay because no one has actually answered the question.

The sabertooth lacks a lot of the features found on rampage boards designed for serious to nutsoid overclocking. It lacks some of the features found on the deluxe "Consumer" grade board....(It's x99, consumer doesn't really exist)

The main selling point of the sabertooth is how overbuilt it is. It has fricking monumental power delivery. It has static shock resistance built into every component, and physically it's a slightly thicker pcb, supplemented by the sabertooth's "Armour". In my opinion it is a military grade board available to the consumer. With that come various temperature an environmental tolerances that regular motherboards will not function at.

As stated above I do not run the sabertooth board, I run a x99E-WS. At the time I built my system the sabertooth was not available, Honestly I prefer my board, but with the price tag inherrant with the WS part I wouldn't recommend it to anyone outside of certain specialised cases. If a friend wanted an indestructable computer on x99, then I'd recommend a sabertooth, if they didn't wan't to spend that much, then I hear MSi has a "military" (Yeah I don't really believe that...You mean they have it as a secretary's computer back at barracks right?) grade motherboard.

For most prosumers the deluxe is just fine, for those with experience and knowhow for serious overclocking then the rampage is better. If you just want something that will keep working then sabertooth is about as good as it gets.
